Utopian Editing respects your privacy. This policy explains what information I collect through this website, why I collect it, and how I use and protect it.
Information you provide
If you contact me through the website, I may collect information such as your:
- name
- email address
- information about your writing project
- approximate manuscript word count
- timeline or deadline
- description of the help you’re looking for
If we continue the conversation, you may also choose to send manuscript pages, outlines, notes, or other project materials.
If you become a client, I may keep additional correspondence, project records, invoices, and other information reasonably necessary to provide services and maintain normal business records.
How I use your information
I use the information you provide to:
- respond to your inquiry;
- learn about your project and determine whether I may be able to help;
- prepare sample edits, recommendations, or quotes when appropriate;
- provide editing or writing-coaching services you request;
- communicate with you about your project; and
- maintain records necessary to operate Utopian Editing.
I do not sell your personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Manuscripts and other project materials
I understand that unpublished writing may be personal, valuable, and not intended for public distribution.
Manuscript pages and other project materials you send me are used only to evaluate your project, prepare a sample edit or quote, or provide the services we have agreed upon. I do not publish, sell, or share your work with others except when necessary to provide a service you have requested, when you have given me permission, or when disclosure is required by law.
Contact-form and website security
This website uses WPForms to receive contact-form submissions. Information submitted through the form may be stored in the website’s WordPress database and may also be included in email notifications sent to me.
The contact form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish human visitors from automated spam and malicious traffic. In providing that security service, Cloudflare may process technical information such as your IP address, browser or device information, and other security-related signals.
Cookies and technical information
Utopian Editing does not currently use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or other tools to track visitors for marketing or behavioral advertising.
This website and the services that help operate and secure it may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for site functionality, security, or administration.
Web servers may also automatically record basic technical information, such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and the date and time of a visit, as part of ordinary security and server logging.
If Utopian Editing later adds analytics, advertising, or other tracking technologies, this policy will be updated as appropriate.
How long I keep information
I keep personal information only as long as it is reasonably useful for the purpose for which it was collected or as needed for legitimate business, accounting, legal, or recordkeeping purposes.
Information that is no longer needed may be deleted periodically.
Service providers
I may use trusted third-party services to operate this website, protect it from abuse, communicate with clients, or conduct ordinary business operations. Those providers may process limited information as necessary to provide their services.
I do not give third parties permission to use your manuscript or personal information for their own marketing purposes.

You may contact me if you would like to ask what personal information I have about you, request a correction, or ask me to delete information I no longer need to retain.

Utopian Editing’s services and website are not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website.
