There is no hard-and-fast formula for pricing\u00a0because each project is different (e.g., heavy editing takes longer than light editing). In order to provide a quote, I will need to see the full manuscript to get an idea of its overall condition. Then I will select an excerpt of no more than 1,000 words or 5% of the project, whichever is lower, and perform a free sample edit<\/a><\/strong><\/span>. I will use that sample edit to estimate how long editing will take.<\/h5>\n
For coaching and developmental editing, I’ll need to talk with you to learn about your goals and what help you need from me. I’ll quote a price that fits the time investment we anticipate. For some projects (especially coaching in the early stages of a manuscript), an hourly rate might be more appropriate.<\/h5>\n
